Bernicia has further strengthened its senior leadership team with the appointment of new ICT Director Paul Sandersfield.
Paul brings 21 years of experience of working in the social housing sector to his new role at Bernicia where he will develop and drive forward the ICT strategy and enhance Bernicia’s overall ICT business service.
Paul will develop an ICT service tightly focused on delivering for tenants and customers.
Under his leadership, his team will assess how best to seize the opportunities presented by technology to further improve ICT services for the business, its staff, tenants and wider customers.
Sunderland born and bred, Paul is currently head of data governance at housing association Gentoo and began his career 34-years-ago at Sunderland City Council.
“Everyone I speak to that knows Bernicia says it is a fantastic place to work and I’m really looking forward to putting my own stamp on the role,” said Paul.
“When I met the Chief Executive John Johnston at my interview I thought ‘I really want to work for Bernicia’ – he is values led and Bernicia through and through.
“This is the next step up for me in my career, an opportunity to bring my experience and knowledge to Bernicia, to understand the senior leadership team’s priorities and give them the ICT service they need to get the job done.”
