Guide to Antisocial BehaviourWhat we do about antisocial behaviour
Here are some of the things that are antisocial behaviour:
- Being aggressive or threatening (shouting, swearing or physically hurting someone)
- Being really noisy a lot of the time, especially late at night
- Causing trouble in a group (like big groups of young people being loud or causing problems)
- Hate crime (when someone is is unkind or hurtful because of another person’s race, religion, gender, disability or other differences)
- Serious arguments with neighbours that make people feel unsafe
- Damage to property (like smashing windows/kicking doors)
- Misusing drugs or alcohol
We know these things can be frustrating, but they’re not something we deal with as antisocial behaviour.
- Arguments about parking
- Children playing outside
- Talking loudly
- Dogs barking sometimes
- Walking up and down stairs
- Using washing machines or other household items
- Closing or slamming doors
- Falling out online or on social media
- Everyday noises from people living their daily lives
