At Bernicia, we’re pledging our support to National Hate Crime Awareness Week and its message that everyone has the right to live their lives without fear or intimidation because of who they are.
We have a dedicated team of housing professionals who work across local communities, supporting people who are experiencing the trauma of hate crime.
Hate crime is defined as a criminal act against someone because of their race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other aspect of who they are.
Bernicia is committed to building strong communities where everyone can live safely in the security of a good home.
Our team is focused on victims and has strong working relationships with partners including police and local authorities, to successfully tackle issues blighting people’s lives.
As Hate Crime Awareness Week says, there’s no place for hate in our communities which should be a safe place for all. The campaign urges people suffering hate crime to report it.
