Bernicia is delighted that the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) has once again confirmed top grades for our governance and financial viability.
Retaining our G1 V1 ratings demonstrates that Bernicia is well governed and financially resilient.
The ratings are the highest housing associations can achieve and follow a successful Annual Stability Check by the RSH, which involves an assessment of financial robustness and changes in risk profile.
John Johnston, Bernicia Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to receive the highest regulatory assessment, which reflects the hard work and strength of the whole team at Bernicia, particularly the close working partnerships between our board, colleagues and involved tenants.
“This assessment is awarded against a backdrop of Bernicia building more homes than ever before and maintaining high levels of investment in our existing stock.
“This includes energy efficiency improvements to ensure tenants have a quality and truly affordable home and our investments in employability initiatives as well as projects to help tackle loneliness and isolation.
“Whilst there are challenges in our marketplace, we are proud to be part of a sector that was established to help people.
“We are determined to continue to put our human and financial resources to work to support our tenants, customers and the wider communities we serve at a time when they arguably need this most.”
