Assistant Health and Safety Adviser
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 per week
Salary: £24,000 to £33,469 per annum inclusive of car allowance based on current experience and career development.
Location: Ashington (base office) with agile working across all of Bernicia’s offices and geographical operational areas inclusive of the ability to work from home after completion of a satisfactory probation and/or development period.

About the role:
- This is a great opportunity to contribute to the delivery of health and safety across the Bernicia Group. .
- Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, you will undertake a range of health and safety duties as well as taking responsibility for data management.
The role will support the Health and Safety Team to deliver our values and ensure a strong culture continues to be embedded in safety, health and welfare.
About you:

Essential
- NEBOSH National General Certificate as a minimum with intention to work towards and obtain NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- Proven skills in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and email.
- Well organised with a positive and flexible attitude.
- Ability to work autonomously and set own priorities as well as working as a team member.
- Be self motivated and determined and able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Initiate, identify and take part in own and team development opportunities to keep knowledge, skills, experience and continuous professional development/ development plans up to date.
- Full driving licence and use of a vehicle for work purposes is essential.
Desirable
- Willingness to develop experience in particular fields of health and safety such as COSHH.
- Membership of IOSH and willing to participate in evidencing continuous professional development.
- Experience of working in health and safety or social housing environment
