Safeguarding Officer

• Full time, 37 hours per week Monday to Friday
• Annual salary and car allowance £33,469
• Based at either Pity Me, Durham, or Ashington, with agile and flexible working arrangements in place

This post offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced safeguarding professional to join our Care and Support team and make a real difference.

Do you have a sound working knowledge of safeguarding legislation and practice? Do you have the ability to relate to people, often in difficult situations? Do you have experience of dealing with complex safeguarding cases?

We’re looking for an exceptional talent to manage safeguarding cases and work collaboratively with our partners to ensure the safety of our customers. You’ll continuously work to maintain, embed and improve Bernicia’s safeguarding approach, ensuring the highest standards of support for safeguarding vulnerable people.

We never get complacent at Bernicia, so you’ll seek out opportunities to continuously improve services to meet challenging targets and obtain best value for customers; working in partnership with stakeholders, external partners and colleagues.

We really only want motivated people who are ready to get stuck in and make a positive difference.  So if you have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help our customers we’d love to hear from you. 

The successful candidate will possess a full driving licence and have use of a vehicle for work purposes.
