Bowmont House is situated in the heart of the town centre on Newcastle Great Park. It has 40 two bedroom flats – six of these are fully wheelchair accessible – with extensive communal facilities including residents lounge, hairdressing salon and hobbies room, a scooter storage and charging room, assisted bathing area, and guest room for visitors.

The Extra Care housing provides all the usual facilities of sheltered housing, further complimented by additional care and support from an onsite care team.

Bowmont House has been described as ‘a safe and wonderful place to live, full of vibrancy, enjoyment and care and support, enabling some of the most vulnerable residents to enjoy a high quality of life’.

To be eligible for accommodation in Bowmont you need to have a care need and receive some formal care from the on-site care team.

Applicants need an assessment from Adult Services. Allocations are decided by a panel made up with representatives from adult services, housing providers and Newcastle Council Fairer Housing Unit.
