Bernicia is partnering with our friends at RE:GEN, investing more than £5m into upgrading hundreds of our homes across North Northumberland and Houghton-le-Spring – part of our on-going commitment to provide properties people are proud to call home.
Work is underway in Northumberland delivered by our contractor RE:GEN in 527 homes, including 121 new kitchens and 90 new bathroom suites, as well as new heating systems, front and back doors, roofs and render work.
Over the coming weeks, our team will be at properties in Berwick, Tweedmouth, Spittal, East Ord, Amble, Branxton, Seahouses, Beadnell, Belford and Wark.
From there it’s onto upgrading homes on the Racecourse Estate in Houghton-le-Spring in September.
A total of 87 properties will be upgraded there with measures including new kitchens, bathrooms (including electric showers) more efficient heating systems and new front and back doors
The work is part of a stock investment programme delivering improvements to properties from Northumberland to Teesside and forms part of our overall four-year commitment to invest £220m in new and existing homes.
