Yes, you may need to update your payments.
Please contact us and we’ll let you know the new amount to pay. We can also check everything is set up correctly for you.
If your Housing Benefit is paid directly to us, we’ll let your local council know about your new rent and charges.
If your Housing Benefit is paid to you, you’ll need to contact your local council. You can use your rent review letter as proof of your new charges.
You don’t need to do anything straight away. You can update your Universal Credit once your new rent charge starts. For most people, this will be from 6 April 2026.
We’ll update your Direct Debit after your final payment for this financial year. Your Direct Debit will be updated by 15 April at the latest.
