This post offers an opportunity for the successful candidate to influence corporate strategy in relation to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability including affordable warmth, Net Zero targets which has an impact across the business. 

As an Environmental Sustainability Advisor you will support the Energy Sustainability Specialist on all matters relating to energy efficiency, retrofit technologies, grant funding and environmental matters, including developing budgets, leading the sourcing/preparation of grant applications and leveraging external funding for environmental sustainability improvement projects to address environmental and affordable warmth issues across the stock portfolio.

You will take the lead and support the assessments of the energy performance of our stock, developing and maintaining the SAP/energy database, providing in-depth analysis of data, developing options appraisals to inform our decision making processes and developing/delivering/contract administration of programmes which target improvements in accordance with our corporate and strategic priorities and plans.

Responsible for maintaining our externally certified energy / environmental management system SHIFT, currently Gold, including working with stakeholders to develop, implement and maintain a performance management system and environmental suite of KPI, actively benchmarking our environmental performance to drive continuous improvement

Ensure compliance with all environmental legislation and regulatory/statutory requirements/returns across the organisation (including MEES and the Heat Networks and Billing Regulations and advising on any required licences), including horizon scanning and researching legislative changes, best practice and innovation, assessing and reporting on their potential impacts when applied to our activities.

The successful candidate must have a high level of proficiency in the use of various IT systems, including advanced Excel/database skills, have excellent communication skills and have a passion for helping people. One of the key parts of this role will be to support our customers with the challenges they face of massively increasing energy bills.
