Alison Alden

Alison joined the Bernicia board in November 2021 and chairs the audit and risk committee, having been an independent member of the committee prior to that date.  Alison started her career at KPMG, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1996.  Since then she has led finance, risk, operational and compliance functions in a number of industries but mainly focussed on financial services and education.  Alison has a current portfolio of executive and non executive roles, working with Health Shield Friendly Society, Northumberland Church of England Academy Trust, Business Finance Market and, until recently, was treasurer and trustee at Smart Works Newcastle.
