Tenants set out their priorities for Bernicia

Priorities: Bernicia tenants tell senior management what the company's priorities should be

Tenants met with Bernicia staff to set out their priorities for the business which will ensure their views are at the heart of the company’s future plans.

Chief Executive John Johnston outlined Bernicia’s five-year corporate strategy to tenants from across the North East, which includes plans to invest in existing homes and build at least 500 new properties.

Sam Devlin, Bernicia Customer Service Manager, said: “Tenants seized the opportunity to meet with senior management and discuss their priorities for the business – what’s important and matters to them in their homes and communities.

“Supporting tenants to budget for the challenges of the new Universal Credit was high on their list, as were repairs and customer service.

“Tenants told us how important communication with us is to them, listening to their concerns and letting them know that we’ve taken action to address issues they raise.

“That’s why involving our tenants to shape service plans is so important and crucial to our success in meeting their expectations.”

Bernicia is supporting National Customer Service Week which highlights the importance of good customer service at the heart of all successful businesses.
