Monitoring Officer

We are delighted to be delivering an innovative new employability project with the aim giving a helping hand to people in the North East.

We’re passionate about our communities and helping local people to succeed.  We’ve a strong history of supporting people to live well in their homes and communities.

Our social inclusion values are at the heart of what we do.  So we’re excited to be launching our new Community Investment Strategy which will see us expand our activities to support aspiration and employment across the North East, and focus on a wide range of social and economic inclusion activities.

In support of these aspirations we are advertising some fantastic opportunities to join our newly created Employability team, including a Monitoring Officer:

Monitoring Officer

Our new strategy will see us deliver more support for people who need help to live well in their homes and communities.  Through our charity, Bernicia Foundation, we will fund projects that tackle social and economic isolation.  Our new Employability Team will work with schools and businesses to help more people achieve the skills they need to thrive in the world of work.  This will be supported by apprenticeships and work-based programmes we deliver in our business.  We’ll also work with partner organisations to deliver social value activities and seek grant funding to support our work.

We’re looking for someone who shares our motivation to make a difference, joining our new team to keep track of all these activities.

As our Monitoring Officer you’ll establish processes to record the activities of a wide range of internal and external delivery partners.  You’ll be comfortable liaising with partners and colleagues to make sure returns are correct and received on time.

Carrying out research to support reports and funding bids, submitting returns to funders and assessing the progress of projects we’ve funded, will all be key aspects of your role.

You’ll have strong numeracy skills and be comfortable working with spreadsheets, as well as, having excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with partners and support them to deliver the information we need. Importantly, you will be flexible to respond the changing business needs of a new service, and be able to work independently across a range of projects, planning and managing your own workload and working to reporting deadlines.
