We are just putting the finishing touches to an improvement programme that will see £70m invested over the next 5 years in our existing homes and communities across the Region.
Using our bespoke and well-established approach to identify investment priorities, our asset management strategy draws on a broad range of insight and intelligence to determine the scope and content of plans that ensure we continue to offer value for money and provide high quality homes in desirable neighbourhoods.
Our programmes are designed to improve the fabric and interior of homes to both minimise the cost of running a home and ensure that interior space standards, layouts, fixtures and fittings all appeal to the diverse households we cater for.
Our plans go beyond this though extending to the external environment, making sure our neighbourhoods are places where people want to live with adequate parking, street lighting and infrastructure all contributing to create pleasant, safe and welcoming communities.
But we don’t stop at just physical improvements. Our plans also take advantage of the socio-economic benefits we can deliver from such a significant investment. Initiatives to encourage people into training and employment also feature in our plans, along with programmes to support the wellbeing and independence of tenants.
Following a robust procurement process we are pleased to announce that both Esh and ENGIE have been appointed as delivery partners, to work alongside our own in-house construction division, delivering improvement to our homes across Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Durham and Teesside.
